Every now and then (especially after a storm), the Mexican sewer overflows onto our beaches.  Are sewer breaks becoming more common or are they just reporting that more?

I'll assume that Mexico cannot afford to fix that problem.  Actually, they are not the only source of the beach "stank".  Our sewers bust open every now and them too.  Yo!  I wouldn't even stick my pinky toe into the Mission Bay water.

I suppose our run off after a good rain is just as hazardous.  How many times have you heard "don't go into the water after the rains, the beaches bacterial levels are up." Man! just when the waves are great, the water is too shitty (litterally) to go in.  God knows what you could pick up from that contaminated beach.

Makes me sad really.  I remember walkiing the beaches here as a kid and spotting plenty of sand dollars.  I can't do that now.  where have all the sand dollars gone?  They all died, didn't they? There use to be lots of little rock crabs at the bay.  Now, you have to look good and hard to see one or two.

Are our beaches dying?  As a child, I saw more life on the shores than I do now.  Are our beaches dying?  I spotted plenty of sand eroding away.  Are our beaches dying?  I see a warning sign about tainted fish in the bay on the fishing pier.  Are our beaches and bays dying?  When I was a child I spotted plenty of hermit crabs at the bay's shores.  Now... nothing.  Are our  beaches and bays dying?

Seems like the water and sand had been poisoned.  We play here.  Are we dying too?
