Friday October 10th

Good Morning everyone.  I'm so glad its Friday today.  I am sooo looking forward to doing absolutely nothing today!  Tomorrow we are going to Stingaree for my boyfriend's brother's birthday.  Hollywood G and my girlfriend Marina are coming into town so that should be fun.  Then Sunday we are going to the Chargers game!  Go Chargers!  I hope you all have fun doing whatever you're doing this weekend.  I got this forward from listener Ace and I thought it was good.  It's called,

The Law of the Garbage Truck

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean he was really friendly. 

So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. 

Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets. 

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so...Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't. Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

Good Morning everyone!  So last night I had sushi for dinner at Seus!  It was great!  While I was there, I got into a conversation with a friend about first impressions.  He was talking about how important it is to always give a great first impression when meeting people.  But it's just as important to make sure you're yourself during that first impression.  He recently had to meet a lot of people, and he was trying so hard to impress them that he wasn't really being himself at all.  Luckily he realized what he was doing, and stopped it real quick.  We meet people everyday.  And it's true first impressions go along way.  They can really determine whether someone likes you or not, or whether they just think you are a good person or not.  But I also think that a lot of people DO go out of their way to impress others.  They over do it sometimes.  And while they are over-doing it, they veer far away from the person they really are.  And that's not good at all.  So today, remember that first impressions do matter.  But also remember that who you really are matters more.  Quote of the day is, "You never get a second chance to make a first impression."  Have a good day everyone.
